* We will only accept applications for the Fourth Call and the Final Call for Spring 2018 from the applicants who are residents in Japan in January 2018. We do not recognize "temporary visitor" status holders as Japanese residents.

Entrance Examination


Entrance Examination

1. Number of students to be admitted
The number of places on this program for spring admission is limited to forty (40).
The maximum of 20 students shall be accepted for fall admission.

2. Qualifications for entrance
The minimum qualifications required of all applicants is the completion of 12 years of regular school education or its equivalent and the achievement by 18 years of age on the entrance date of the program.
In addition to the above-mentioned qualifications, applicants' Japanese ability should be equivalent to the following qualifications:
Spring Admission: Any person whose Japanese language abilities are equivalent to Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), N5 or higher (Amount of time spent studying Japanese is more than 150 hours) * Except self-study learners.
Fall Admission: Any JLPT N4 (Third class in former grading system) passer or any persons who have studied Japanese language for 300 hours or more at the time of applications (more than 500 hours at the time of admission) * Except self-study learners. We do not accept applications from those who have studied at other Japanese language schools in Japan for more than one year.

3. Application
1) Application Period: See above

2) Application Procedure:
-- All the application forms and the application fee must be sent by registered mail to the International Exchange Center, Reitaku University by the applicant or his/her liaison person. (Please meet the deadline.)
-- If the documents are not valid and complete, Reitaku University will not accept them.

4. Application Documents and Fee, if you live outside of Japan.

1) Application Form (To be written on the form enclosed. Photocopies of the application form will not be accepted.)
2) The original of Certificate of Graduation from the last school attended or, if presently attending, a provisional certificate of graduation (original).
--If a document is not in Japanese, English or Chinese, it must be accompanied by translations into one of those languages.
--Applicants from China should attach an original Certificate of Graduation notarized by an official notary public.
--If application is made before graduation from 12 years of regular schooling, an actual certificate of graduation must be submitted when entering Reitaku University.
3) The original of official transcript from the last school attended by the applicant
--If a document is not in Japanese, English or Chinese, it must be accompanied by translations into one of those languages.
4) The transcript or the certificate of a standardized university entrance examination (In case where the last school attended by the applicant is a high school.)
--If you have taken a standardized university entrance examination which is applicable to enter a university in your country, please submit the transcript or the certificate of the examination or its copy.
--If you have not taken the test, you do not have to submit it.
5) Letter of Guarantee by the guarantor (To be written on the specific form enclosed.)
--The guarantor means the applicant's parents.
--In the event that the parent cannot be a guarantor, please specify the reason.
6) Pledge to Pay Expenses (To be written on the specific form enclosed.)
7) Address labels (12 Labels)
--Please print your address clearly and correctly on each label to avoid problems.
8) Application Fee-10,000 yen (12,500 yen in case of payment from abroad.)
--Payment is accepted only in Japanese yen through bank account which Reitaku University will designate. (We do not accept cash payments.)
--In order to pay from outside Japan, pay into the bank account below in Japanese yen.
--If you transfer money from a bank in a foreign country, the university will be charged an additional service fee of JPY 2,500 per-transfer. Please transfer JPY 12,500 in such cases.
--Please attach a copy of Application for Bank Transfer.
--The fee is not refundable.

9) Certificate of Bank Transfer (To be written on the form enclosed)
10) Application for Certificate of Eligibility (To be written on the form to the Minister of Justice) Applicants who have had their application for “Certificate of Eligibility” rejected by the Immigration Bureau before should attach a copy of all the pages of the rejection notice and a letter (to Student Inspection Section, Immigration Bureau) which states the reason why the applicant wishes to apply for the certificate again.
11) 3 Photographs (4.0 cm×3.0 cm) Taken within three months, half-length, without hat, full front face.
--Your name should be written on the reverse side.
--Paste one photo on the Application for Admission, the other photo on the Application for Certificate of Eligibility (10). And enclose the third photo in the same envelope with the other documents.
--All the photos should be identical.
12) Certified Account Balance of the person financially responsible
* We would like students of the program to possess enough money for tuition and living expenses for one year because they will have to attend classes from morning into the afternoon. Those who earn living expenses by part-time jobs for the year during the program may find that jobs hinder their study. We do not allow students of the program to take part-time jobs in the first semester in principle because the jobs interfere with their studies.
--Applicants from China should submit both the original of Certificate of Deposit and the copy of Foreign Currency Deposit Receipt.
13) Certified Statement of Employment of the person financially responsible
--Retirees should submit a certificate which states the period of their employment periods.
14) If the person financially responsible is not yourself, an official certificate stating the relationship to you is required.
--Please attach Notarized document of 13) by an official notary public (Applicants from China only)
--In case the relationship between the applicant and the person financially responsible is based on friendship or acquaintanceship, we cannot consider him/her to be the person financially responsible.
15)Copy of the result / certificate of EJU (Examination of Japanese University Admission for International Students) / JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) / Japanese Language NAT-TEST (Only if applicable)
16) Certificate of Japanese ability is required (only by those who do not have the transcript in item (15) above) and must be certified by a Japanese educational institution.
17) A photocopy of the applicant’s passport (if applicable)
18) A Check List of the Documents for Application
--Please check each box after confirming each document is present.
--This list must be signed by the applicant him-or herself after carefully reading the notes.

5. Application Documents and Fee, if you live in Japan.

1)-18) Same as an applicant who lives outside of Japan except 10).
19) A remittance certificate or a copy of the bank book which indicates the remittance.
20) Official Transcript from a Japanese Language School (if you are a student of a Japanese Language School)
21) Copy of your passport and Certificate of Registered Items in the Foreign Resident Registry.

In case the applicant's expenses will be paid by a resident in Japan

The following certificates are necessary in addition to the above-mentioned documents.
22) Taxable Income Certificate
23) The Certificate of Resident Registration of the resident who will pay the expenses or the Certificate of Registered Items in the Foreign Resident Registry.

Note:

1) If the submitted documents are not valid and complete, Reitaku University will not accept them.
2) None of the submitted documents will be returned.
3) Admission shall be canceled if an applicant makes false statements on submitted documents.
4) We recommend that you copy all the documents before you submit them to us because you may need to confirm their contents after we have received them.
5) Admission shall be canceled if the Immigration Bureau rejects an applicant's application for "Certificate of Eligibility."

Selection of Methods

Selection is made after the review of documents submitted by the applicants.

Notice of selection will be sent to every applicant as follows:
No enquiries into admission are allowed by phone, fax, e-mail, etc.

Entrance Formalities [Fall Admission]

1. Entrance Formalities: Passed applicants only
After receiving the “Acceptance Certificate,” each applicant is required to submit all necessary documents (specified below) and the entrance fee, tuition and other fees (specified below). (Please make sure all your documents and fees are received by us before or on the closing day.)
1) Pledge (To be written by each applicant on the form enclosed)
2) A Certificate of Health on the form enclosed.
3) 8 Color photographs, 4.5 cm×3.5 cm
- Photos should be from the waist up without a hat, taken within the past three months.
- Your name should be written on the reverse side.
- All the photos should be identical.
4) Entrance Fee, Tuition and Other Fees- JPY 390,000 (projected, subject to change) /From outside Japan- JPY 392,500
- Payment is accepted only in Japanese yen through bank account which Reitaku University will designate.
- In order to pay from outside Japan, pay into the bank account in Japanese yen.
--Please correctly write the name of the recipient “Reidai bekkaguchi Gakkou Houzin Hiroike Gakuen”
--Please correctly write the acceptance number of the application.
- In case of a bank transfer, an additional 2,500 yen is needed to cover the commission for converting it into cash.
- These fees are not refundable.

2. Application for the Dormitory and Payment
Those who want to live in the dormitory need to (1) fill out and submit the “Dormitory Residence Application Form”and (2) pay the accommodation fee for the first semester at the time of the university entrance procedures.

3. Closing Date of Entrance Formalities

Please see the application form for details.

4. Validity Period of the Certificate of the Admission
1) When Reitaku University receives the necessary documents and the entrance fee, a “Certificate of Admission” will be issued.
2) The expiration date of the "Certificate of Admission" will be April 2, 2016 for Spring and September 15 for Fall. Applicants are responsible for obtaining visas and passports. If an applicant does not obtain these documents in time to report to Reitaku University by the expiration date, the admission shall be canceled.

5. Certificate of Eligibility
1) To get a student visa, the applicant must apply to the Japanese Ministry of Justice for a “Certificate of Eligibility” to reside in Japan. Detailed information will be forwarded to you.
2) All applicants who leave their countries must enter Japan on College Student visas.
