Outline

Japanese Language Program offers an intensive course for students wishing to gain comprehensive Japanese skills. In addition to strengthening the fundamentals of grammar and sentence structure, from basic to advanced, this course is designed so that students can develop the skills necessary to use Japanese effectively from all perspectives: reading, listening, speaking, and writing. This highly interactive class is limited to a maximum of 20 students.

More for intercultural communication

The Japanese Language Program offers several unique intercultural classes as well as very practical Japanese lessons. In "Intercultural Competence," international students work jointly with Japanese students exchanging views on various topics with a view to hammering out new discoveries. Through hands-on experience steps, this class is aimed at helping students and the people they represent from different countries better understand each other, cultivate friendships, and learn to collaborate. As opposed to merely sitting back and listening to the instructor, students are encouraged to actively take leadership in discussions, so that they will gain better understanding of Japanese students' as well as the skill to conduct discussions in Japanese.

More practical approaches

As for a more practical approach, not just language skill lessons, in a course like "Japanese for Entrance Examinations," we will help international students, who wish to attend to Japanese universities and graduate schools, to prepare by giving them information about selecting a university, gathering information, making preparation for the entrance examination, etc.

On the other hand, the program also offers "Business Japanese I / II," which is designed for students plan to join a Japanese firm, or one in which business-level Japanese is required. Students learn how to converse while on the job, including how to introduce themselves, receive/confirm instructions, speak on the telephone, etc. In addition, students learn the general mindset of Japanese employees and the proper behavior they are expected to display as working professionals.
